Thanks all! And I do mean THANKS! I’ve received so much good info and advice here. I have learned so much and become adept at things I never would have thought I could attempt. What an invaluable forum and source for information! I will continue to sing the praises of this site to all who will listen.

Encyclopedia Britannica says this about The Horseman’s Advisor: “Our editors have selected your site as one of the best on the Internet when reviewed for quality, accuracy of content, presentation, and usability…Congratulations on being a selected member of the Britannica Internet Guide.”

just wanted to thank Dr O once more for this site…horseadvice lets me check i have done stuff correctly (temperature etc. – it was a bit high but the panting was like exercise it was so strong) and the board helps me save money on vet calls, but make the right calls when i need to. happy christmas Dr O – just think – as well as helping all of us you are saving your colleagues around the world from unnecessary night calls!

this is why i love this site. you never know what nuggets of knowledge you are going to mine each time you open a discussion….just this little gem alone is worth the cost of my yearly membership-but there is so much more. anyway,
thanks for the lesson, Dr. o! very cool.

one of our members recently recommended us to a friend who joined, we sent her a thank you and received this very nice reply:

…i would like to add that i want to thank 'horseadvice' and of course especially Dr.O and all the other members who over the past few years helped and stimulated me and gave me enough courage to start breeding again. after a few rather horrible accidents i couldn't get myself to breed anymore. i was almost on the verge of selling my last two horses because i couldn't handle the fright anymore when i found this site. Dr.O you have no idea how much backup you give with your information answers and common sense….i know in the whole of the world it is nothing but to me it means i've got my life back and to my horses they will be taken care off and pampered. thanks

i am very impressed with the new enhancements made to this site. i also really like the option to have e-mails forwarded for certain topics that are of interest.

i can't tell you how many times i have used this site for medical questions even when i have had uc davis and my own vet working on problems. it's great to have a source for second opinions and to bounce ideas off of.
i have a mare with a laminitis/founder history and i have studied this subject extensively. i think that horseadvice.com has the best description of the disease, with suggestions for treatment that i have found.
i usually don't subscribe to fee sites, but this is some of the best money that i have spent in a long time. i will continue to be a loyal member as long as i have horses…..
thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!

Though we have veterinarians use our site because the information is as current as today's published research and as practical as sliced bread, our articles are written to help horse owners understand their horses in health and disease. a recent article that explains how to diagnose the cause of swellings brought this response from our members:
